The old 18th-century castle park of Mariagaarde in Hoepertingen suffered greatly during the storm of 23 June.
More than half of the trees fell behind and beside the water castle.
In addition, the old wrought iron garden gate was crushed by a tree, and one of the towers lost its spire...
This became a complex restoration for the gate, aiming to preserve as many old elements as possible.
The tower spire was completely 'replicated' based on the model of the "old weather vane".
All restored parts were coated in RAL9005 "old matte".
